Entomology and Plant Science Bureau
Exotic Pest Program

The Iowa Department of Agriculture & Land Stewardship collaborates with USDA, Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Iowa State University to survey for exotic plant pests, such as insects and pathogens, that could cause significant economical and environmental harm to the State of Iowa. In addition to the gypsy moth, the IDALS Entomologists are on the lookout for emerald ash borer, Asian longhorn beetle, thousand canker disease of walnut, and khapra beetle, to name a few.

If you believe you have found an exotic plant pest, contact the IDALS Entomology & Plant Science Bureau, or the Iowa State University Plant & Insect Diagnostic Clinic

More information can be found at www.iowatreepests.com.
