DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey today unveiled a new website and web address for the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. The new site contains a number of new features designed to make the programs and services operated by the Department more accessible to the public and can be found at www.IowaAgriculture.gov.
“The Department is very diverse and has a broad range of programs and bureaus, and our new website is designed to make all our areas more user-friendly and accessible,” Northey said.
New features included in the website include complete directory that can be used to email employees, updated newsroom, “Hot Topics” section, additional forms and applications, special projects, and other features.
“So whether you are interested in our conservation programs, finding a local farmers market, seeing the latest cash grain prices, learning about becoming a certified pesticide applicator, or any of the many other areas of the Department, our new website is a good place to start,” Northey said.
Also as part of the transition to the updated website, Northey announced new email addresses for all Department employees. Employees can be reached by using the format firstname.lastname@iowaagriculture.gov.
Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his first term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are the opportunities in renewable energy, conservation and stewardship, and telling the story of Iowa agriculture.
