DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey today announced that he will be visiting Palo Alto and Emmett Counties on Thursday, March 10th as part of his efforts to visit each of Iowa’s 99 counties again in 2011. The meetings give Northey an opportunity to hear from Iowans and discuss agriculture and the issues facing farmers in the state.
Northey will be speaking at members of the Kossuth/Palo Alto County Economic Development Corporation in Emmetsburg and then will tour Art’s Way Manufacturing in Armstrong. Secretary Northey will be available to the press at both events, but parties interested in joining the Art’s Way Manufacturing tour should contact the business for more information.

Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his second term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are promoting the use of science and new technologies to better care for our air, soil and water, and reaching out to tell the story of Iowa agriculture.
