NORTHEY TO VISIT GREENE, SAC, BUENA VISTA, CLAY, DICKINSON, EMMET, HANCOCK AND HUMBOLDT COUNTIES MAY 16 AND 17

DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey today announced that he will be making stops in Greene, Sac, Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Hancock and Humboldt Counties on Tuesday, May 16 and Wednesday, May 17.

On Tuesday, Northey will tour the Louis Dreyfus Company ethanol plant in Grand Junction, tour Western Iowa Energy in Wall Lake, have lunch at the Smokin’ Hereford, the 2017 Best Burger in Iowa winner, in Storm Lake, visit Brown Fertilizer in Webb and participate in the Iowa State University Cyclone Tailgate Tour stop in Okoboji.  On Wednesday, Northey will visit Daybreak Foods in Estherville to learn more about additional biosecurity measures they have put in place, have lunch with area farmers at Ron’s Food Market in Corwith and visit Precision Tank & Equipment in Humboldt.

Sac County – 11:30 a.m., tour Western Iowa Energy, 1120 Center St., Wall Lake
Buena Vista County – 1:30 p.m., have lunch at Smokin’ Hereford, the 2017 Best Burger in Iowa winner, 1605 W. Milwaukee Ave., Storm Lake
Clay County – 3:30 p.m., tour Brown Fertilizer, 101 Church St., Webb
Dickinson County – 5:30 p.m., participate in the Iowa State University Cyclone Tailgate Tour, Arnolds Park Pavilion, 37 Lake St, Arnolds Park

Emmet County – 8:45 a.m., visit Daybreak Foods to learn more about additional biosecurity measures that they have put in place, 1959 Hwy 4, Estherville

Humboldt County – 1:30 p.m., visit Precision Tank & Equipment, 2280 16 Ave. N, Humboldt

Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his third term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are promoting the use of science and new technologies to better care for our air, soil and water, and reaching out to tell the story of Iowa agriculture.
