NORTHEY TO VISIT HENRY, DES MOINES, LOUISA AND MADISON COUNTIES NOV. 1 AND 2

DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey today announced that he will be making stops in Henry, Des Moines, Louisa and Madison Counties on Wednesday, November 1 and Thursday, November 2.

On Wednesday, Northey will tour the Beck’s Hybrids facility in Mt. Pleasant, have lunch at the Buffalo Tavern (an Iowa Pork Producers Association best pork tenderloin finalist) in Burlington, visit Flint Cliffs Manufacturing in Burlington and then meet with officials at TriOak Foods in Oakville.  On Thursday, Northey will visit Howells Tree Farm in rural Cumming.

Wednesday, November 1, 2017
Henry County – 10:15 a.m., tour Beck’s Hybrids facility, 505 N. Harvey Rd., Mt. Pleasant
Des Moines County – 12:10 p.m., lunch at The Buffalo Tavern, a Iowa Pork Producers Association best pork tenderloin contest finalist, 2016 S. Main St., Burlington
Des Moines County – 1:00 p.m., visit Flint Cliffs Manufacturing, 1600 Bluff Rd., Burlington
Louisa County – 2:30 p.m., meet with officials from TriOak Foods, 101 Main St., Oakville

Thursday, November 2, 2017
Madison County – 2:15 p.m., visit Howells Tree Farm, 3145 Howell Ct., Cumming

Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his third term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are promoting the use of science and new technologies to better care for our air, soil and water, and reaching out to tell the story of Iowa agriculture.
