Ethanol Prices Drop

DES MOINES – The price of wholesale ethanol dropped ten cents this week, closing at $1.39 per gallon.

Crude Oil Summary
The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.29 per barrel over last week, and is currently priced at $56.30.

Brent crude oil fell $1.28 and is currently priced at $61.85.

One year ago WTI crude sold for $45.81 and Brent crude was at $44.15.

Motor Fuels
As of Tuesday, November 14th, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.53 across Iowa according to AAA.  This is the same price as last week and $.45 higher than one year ago.  The national average on Tuesday was $2.56, up a penny from last week’s price. 

Retail diesel fuel prices in Iowa were up $.04 from last week’s price with a statewide average of $2.82.   One year ago diesel prices averaged $2.37 in Iowa.   The current Iowa diesel average is $.01 lower than the national average of $2.83.

Wholesale ethanol prices were $.10 lower than last week’s price, currently at $1.39. 

The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $1.73 for U87-E10, $1.95 for Unleaded 87 (clear), ULSD#2 is at $1.98, ULSD#1 is at $2.23, and E-70 is priced at $1.63 per gallon.

Heating Fuels
Propane prices held steady at last week’s prices for a statewide average of $1.41 per gallon.  Home heating oil prices rose $.03 from last week’s figures, ending with a statewide average of $2.42.  Natural Gas prices held steady at the Henry Hub reporting site and ended the week at $3.08/ MMbtu.
