NORTHEY TO VISIT BENTON, SCOTT, MUSCATINE, MONROE, DECATUR, CLARKE, JACKSON AND JONES COUNTIES AUGUST 25 TO 28

DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey today announced that he will be visiting Benton, Scott, Muscatine, Monroe, Decatur, Clarke, Jackson and Jones Counties from Tuesday, August 25 to Friday, August 28.

On Tuesday, Northey will participate in a Benton/Tama Nutrient Reduction Demonstration Project Field Day near Vinton, attend an Outstanding Farmers of America event near Donahue and visit a Monsanto facility in Muscatine.  On Wednesday, Northey will speak at an Iowa Biotech Association Biotech Spotlight Series event in Eddyville, visit From the Ground coffee shop in Leon, tour Petty Custom Cattle Feeding near Leon and visit Salford Inc. in Osceola.  On Friday, Northey will speak at the North Scott Rotary Club in Davenport, tour P&K Midwest in Maquoketa and tour Bodensteiner Implement in Monticello.

Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his third term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are promoting the use of science and new technologies to better care for our air, soil and water, and reaching out to tell the story of Iowa agriculture.
