NORTHEY TO VISIT HENRY AND DES MOINES COUNTIES FEBRUARY 11

DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey today announced that he will be making stops in Henry and Des Moines Counties on Thursday, February 11.

Northey will visit River Rock Café, winner of the Iowa Pork Producers Association Best Pork Tenderloin award in 2013, in Mount Pleasant and then speak to the Upper Mississippi, Illinois and Missouri Rivers Association (UMIMRA) Annual Meeting in Burlington.

Henry County – 1:15 p.m., visit River Rock Café, winner of the 2013 Iowa Pork Producers Association Best Pork Tenderloin, 1529 253rd St., Mount Pleasant
Des Moines County – 3:00 p.m., speak at the Upper Mississippi, Illinois and Missouri Rivers Association (UMIMRA) Annual Meeting, Pzzaz Conference Center, 3001 Winegard Dr., Burlington

Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his third term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are promoting the use of science and new technologies to better care for our air, soil and water, and reaching out to tell the story of Iowa agriculture.
