DES MOINES – The price of natural gas rose $.18, closing the week out at $2.09 / MMbtu.

Crude Oil Summary
The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.17 per barrel over last week, and is currently priced at $49.12.

Brent crude oil rose $.35, and is currently priced at $49.82.

One year ago WTI crude sold for $60.20 and Brent crude was at $64.13.

Motor Fuels
As of Tuesday, May 31st, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.31 across Iowa according to AAA.  This is $.06 higher than one week ago and $.33 lower than one year ago.  The national average on Tuesday was $2.32, $.02 higher than last week. 

Retail diesel fuel prices in Iowa were $.04 higher with a statewide average of $2.29.   One year ago diesel prices averaged $2.76 in Iowa.   The current Iowa diesel average is $.04 lower than the national average of $2.33.

Wholesale ethanol prices were up a penny this week, closing at $1.65. 

The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $1.55 for U87-E10, $1.86 for Unleaded 87 (clear), ULSD#2 is at $1.54, ULSD#1 is at $1.69, and E-70 is priced at $1.78 per gallon.

Heating Fuels
Natural Gas prices were $.18 higher at the Henry Hub reporting site and ended the week at $2.09 / MMbtu.
