NAIG TO TOUR WATERSHED MANAGEMENT AND NUTRIENT REDUCTION EFFORTS IN CEDAR RAPIDS ON TUESDAY, MAY 1

DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig will Noelridge Park in Cedar Rapids at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1 to tour recent watershed management and nutrient reduction enhancements at the park.

City of Cedar Rapids staff will lead the tour and discuss additional urban stormwater management practices that have been implemented within the City. An overview of regional partnerships, including watershed management programs the City is involved in, will also be discussed.

The visit is part of Soil and Water Conservation Week, which runs April 29 to May 6. This year’s theme is “Watersheds: Our Water, Our Home.” More information about the activities that will be held during Soil and Water Conservation Week in Iowa can be found at www.iowaagriculture.gov/conservationweek.asp
